PentacamThe Pentacam is an anterior pole scanner. It is an high resolution eye analyser that provides precise and essential information of the anterior segment of the eye (dimensional analysis, corneal pachymetry, corneal topography and analysis of the cataract). This provides us with an accurate diagnosis to implement corrective measures as well as the data necessary to perform laser surgery

Unlike other scanners, the Pentacam completely analyses the cornea (both the front and back sides), giving us valuable information when deciding to perform laser eye surgery.

Corneal topography gives us a series of data:

  • Corneal thickness (thin corneas).
  • Corneal surface (existence of corneal irregularities).
  • Corneal power.

The corneal topography elevation study is the most sensitive method to rule out eye conditions that contraindicate Lasik surgery.
