To treat various eye diseases there are several types of lasers:

The Yag Laser uses photodisruption and can cut adhesions and opaque membranes. It is used to solve numerous eye problems such as posterior capsule opacification after cataract surgery.

The Argon laser has a photocoagulative effect and is used to treat various eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and retinal tears.

The excimer laser and femtosecond laser are used in refractive surgery to correct all refractive errors:

  • Myopia up to 12 dioptres in power
  • Hyperopia and astigmatism up to 6 dioptres
  • Presbyopia up to 6 dioptres.
